- What is the ‘Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS’ plan?
The Digicel to Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan is a combination of talk & SMS plans; Digicel Talk, Digicel International/Regional & Digicel SMS plan as one bundle. The plan includes the following components;
- Digicel Talk is a plan which gives prepaid customers unlimited Local Digi to Digi calls i.e. all local Digi to Digi calls are zero-rated within the service period (7 days).
- Digicel International/Regional is a calling plan that gives prepaid customers 100 minutes to make calls to the USA, Canada & Regional destinations.
Note: Digicel Regional destinations remain the same as under the current FREE after 5 promotion.
- Digicel SMS is a plan which gives prepaid customers unlimited Local Digi to Digi SMS.
N.B. After the service period has expired the customer goes back to normal billing unless their reactivate the service. The service cost $25 for a seven (7) day period.
2. What is the subscription for the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
- The subscription fee for the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan is EC $25 for 7 days.
3. How does this Plan work?
- Once a Digicel customer has activated the service, they will automatically get FREE Local Digi to Digi calls, 100 minutes to call USA, Canada & Regional destinations plus unlimited SMS.
- The plan is valid for seven (7) days after activation.
- If other call/SMS types are made the then regular calling rates will apply.
4. Who can activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
- ALL Digicel Prepaid customers have access to this service.
5. Are Post-paid /Corporate customers eligible for the service?
NO. Only prepaid and prepaid CUG Customers are eligible for the service.
6. How do I activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
STEPS:
I. Dial “*134# SEND” to initiate.
II. Once the request is received the customer will receive instruction text messages as seen below:
Message 1: Welcome to Digicel’s Unlimited Plans program. The instructions to set up the plan will follow in the next SMS message
Message 2: To activate plan Regional, Local and International with SMS bundle at a cost of 25.00 ECD dial *134*40#.
Once the request has been received the customer will be prompted to confirm payment for the plan via the following text message:
Message 3 (Confirm Acceptance): Please confirm activation of Regional, Local and International with SMS bundle by dialing *134*1#. To cancel dial *134*9#.
III. Once the activation is complete, a final confirmation text message is sent advising the customer that the plan is now active.
Message 4: Thank you for joining Regional, Local and International with SMS bundle.
7. How long does a Customer have to activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
A customer has a 30 minute time period in which to complete the activation process. This is from the time the first message was received.
8. What happens if the activation process is not completed within the 30 minute time period?
- The customer receives an SMS stating Your request to activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan has expired.
- The customer has to restart the activation procedure.
9. As a customer, how can I query the service expiry on my Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
- To query your expiry period on the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan send *134*40# via USSD. You will receive the following SMS;
Your Regional, Local and International with SMS bundle plan expires on ^EXPIRE_DATE^.
10. Once the Digicel Talk plan has been activated can I deactivate it in the middle or any other point before the end of the plan?
- NO. The customer has to remain on that plan for the remainder of the time.
- The Plan is valid for 7-days; all benefits will expire at that time. At the end of each 7-day period customers will have to re-activate the service if they wish to continue.
- Customers will receive the following message 1 day before the end of each 7 day period:
“Your Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan will expire on ^EXPIRE_DATE^
- Customers will receive the following message on the day that the plan has expired.
Your subscription to the Digicel Talk valid to ^EXPIRE_DATE^ has been terminated
11. As a Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan subscriber, must I have credit on my account to use the service?
No. As a Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan subscriber, you are not required to have credit on your account to make Local Digi to Digi calls. In terms of international & regional usage, once the 100 minutes are available, the customer will not require credit.
12. When I am roaming will I still receive the benefits of the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
The benefit of Digicel talk is ONLY available within the home network. Therefore once the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan customer is roaming, roaming charges will be applied to their account.
13. As a prepaid user, if my account is in a deactive state can I activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
No. If your account is in a deactive state you cannot activate the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan, your account must be in an active state.
14. As a prepaid user, if my account is in a deactive (no airtime) state can I still make calls via the Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan?
No. If your account is in a deactive state you would not be able to take advantage of the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan.
15. What happens if I try re-activating the Digicel Talk/Regional/International & SMS plan during the 7 day period?
If a customer who is currently on the Digicel Talk plan tries dialing *134# they would simply get an expiry date notification.
16. As a prepaid user, if my account is in an inactive (no credit) state can I still send SMS to the approved destinations?
Yes. If your account is in an inactive state you can still be able to send SMS to the applicable destinations.
