This was really Antigua ’s week. First Rising Stars, then through to

the second round of the Digicel Caribbean Cup with an historic win

over rivals St. Kitts and Nevis .

 

Ian Lake scored a hat-trick as St Kitts & Nevis hammered Anguilla 6-1 in

the first match of day   two action in Group B of the Digicel Cup

Caribbean at the Antigua Recreation Ground last Friday.

 

While Gason Gregory scored an opportunist goals and goalkeeper Teon

Nathaniel brilliantly saved a penalty in the dying moments as Antigua &

Barbuda scored a memorable 1-0 win over St Kitts & Nevis on Sunday at

the Antigua Recreation Ground to advance to the second round of the

Digicel Caribbean Cup. Congrats Antigua !

 

Coming up this weekend the contest will be in Group D. In this Group

are Jamaica , Haiti , St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia .

Matches will be played in Jamaica .

Caribbean nation will walk away with the Digicel Caribbean Cup, symbol

of regional football supremacy.  

 

The winners will walk away with U.S. $120,000, 2nd place US$70,000,

3rd Place US$50,000 and 4th place US$30,000.

 

Will it be the Reggae Boyz again? Or will it be the SOCA Warriors fresh

from their World Cup campaign?
